Have you seen Stephanie Nicole’s video about Lime Crime and the controversy regarding the brand. If so, what did you think of the points she made in the video? I can’t help but feel that she was a lot less harsh on Lime Crime or more specifically Doe Deere than she was on Jeffree Star, where she was willing to forgive and excuse Doe Deere’s past actions but wasn’t able to do the same for Jeffree Star saying that how people act in the past is a good indication of how they’ll act in the future.

I discussed my thoughts briefly in an earlier post, but to expand on that I have actually spoken to Stephanie privately since the release of the video. We understand that although there is a difference in opinion regarding Lime Crime (and specifically Xenia) each of us have tried to respectfully put their thoughts across based… Continue Reading →

can you people please stop saying that doe deere is mentally ill, psychologically disturbed, narcissistic or whatever? it’s gross and disrespectful. i’m diagnosed with bipolar 1 and i’ve been called those names my entire life – and i’m pretty sure i’m not a horrible person. thank you.

I agree, as someone who has dealt with mental health most of my life I am wary of discussing other people’s medical status, especially when in the context of ‘explaining’ or ‘blaming’ behaviour. I always try to shut that down when I can.  – Nicola

I feel like Doe Deere is the sort of person who will most likely use David Bowies death as a form of making money – like a limited edition lipstick called black star after his new album or something like that. Tbh tho I think she would pull something like that (maybe, hopefully not with Bowie) because she’s a vile human being

I’m not sure even Xenia would think that’s a good idea. She has done some pretty terrible things in my opinion, but I don’t want to pin something like this on her when there is absolutely no basis for it.  – Nicola

Doe loves to build herself up by tearing other women down. The septum ring is just an example. A while back she wrote a whole post saying that natural beauty was lazy. A lot of people took offense, because we don’t all want to wear as much makeup as she does in her photos, or we like natural beauty, or we have jobs. Of course she kept the post but removed the comments. Google “Doe Deere “Lazy”” and it’ll lead you to her post on twitter/FB

Yup, I remember it well! source The comments were mostly people incredulous at the idea that a preference for natural beauty is lazy. I’m actually surprised that most of the negative comments are still there!  – Nicola

All of the scandal aside, the way that Doe Deere presents herself online is enough for me to not support her company. If I support Lime Crime then I am directly supporting a person who I flat out do not like. She is mean, vain, and has no consideration for others. She can say I can’t know her from what she posts on the internet, but that is a flawed statement. She posts her opinions, her fears, her dreams, her anger. How could that NOT give us insight into who she is?

It’s a lazy argument in my opinion – a double edged sword when used like this. Either the information she puts out there is untruthful yet somehow still paints her in a bad light, or it is truthful and based on that people can assume she’s not as perfect as she claims. She can’t have… Continue Reading →

There is a user named Angry_Veggie on Doe’s Instagram that is vehemently defending Lime Crime and Doe Deere. This person has been commenting on almost every photo recently. I wonder if this person is hired help for cleaning up their image? They have a different manner of typing from Doe so I don’t suspect a dummy account but I definitely do suspect a relationship with the company. They have only swooped in recently, around the same time Lime Crime hired that company to help clean up their image.

Angry Veggie has been a frequent commenter on Lime Crime’s social media for a few months now, and although she supports them I don’t think she is a paid employee, but a dedicated fan. I’ve spoke with her on several occasions and although we have very different opinions we have managed to maintain a friendly… Continue Reading →

The fact that Lime Crime needs to have a myth/fact page is evidence of their misconduct. Why would people specifically target and ‘hate’ on Lime Crime and Doe Deere without cause? It is worth considering that perhaps these ‘myths’ have some merit if they exist at all. Companies like Sugar Pill, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, and Makeup Monsters don’t need to dispel any ‘myths’ because they haven’t don’t anything to create unrest with their customers. Just my thoughts.

Another instance of censoring customers found at @anouskaanastasianails. Honestly, I was GOING to buy like 5 sets of nails from her, but after being censored, and realizing I’d much rather not give someone that much of my money when they are blatantly appropriating something that belongs to other cultures, and completely ignoring it when other people bring it up. Reminds me alot of Doe Deere, I don’t see too much positivity coming.

I haven’t heard of this lady before, but it’s definitely worth keeping an eye out for any issues. Thanks for the tip! – Nicola
